Have you checked out the Take-Out Photo blog yet? If you love Paris, now would be a perfect time to check in.
What's it called when you feel homesick for a place that's not really your home? That's how I feel when I see photos of Paris, especially all those little details!
There's a monthly photography challenge on Take-Out photo that I've wanted to participate in. Last month, I got stuck. But this time, with the theme being Architectural Detail, all I had to do was go through the photos I took in New York. I often find myself taking photos of architectural details, even more than of people. Since today is the big release of the new iPhone 3G, I thought this photo was appropriate:

Even though the Apple logo is backwards in this photo, as Jordan pointed out to me (and it's becuase we were standing on the back side of the store), I loved the juxtaposition of the modern building against the old building. Especially since you're looking right through the glass of the Apple Store.

Here's another view of the 5th Avenue Apple Store, and some campers awaiting the new gadget.

Sometime (soon) I'll assemble a bunch of architectural photos in a grid. Wish me luck.

THAT explains the long lines at the cell phone kiosks in the mall this morning. I couldn't figure it out!
Ditto. We were wondering, why the line of people outside the Cingular store?
Great photos! I am so glad you did the challenge this month. And as a huge Apple fan I also love your subject matter.
I love this, Laurie! And I also love your banner photo -- pure eye candy.
oh my i am curious to try a grid....i LOVE THEM IN MAGAZINES, but I don't know....I guess I should go for it. I just need to organize my life.....yeah right...first and for most, I need to mail you the letter i wrot eyou a week a go.!
I haven't done this challenge yet, but have been thinking about it. I fear I'm not around cool architecture very often. That's a shame really.
Your pictures are cool. It's even cooler that you take photos like that on a regular basis, not just for the challenge.
i love this image (even though i'm not an apple girl...)
i just took the challenge, myself.
