In Honor of the Snow and Martin Luther King Jr.

On NPR this morning I heard a feature about the science of snowflakes. Did you know you could study snowflake physics? Each one is different -- as we've all heard, and they're all symmetrical (although not perfectly symmetrical). The photo above is of a real snowflake. They're so beautiful -- check out snowcrystals.com to see more images.

And a great quote, by the man for whom we have a holiday today:

"The time is always right to do what is right."

Martin Luther King Jr.

Those snowflakes are beautiful. You should check out Messages from Water by Masaru Emoto. He studied the effects of vibrations on water crystals, specifically vibrations from music and speech. The photographs are really amazing.

I missed that story on NPR dang it. It's rather unbelievable that each snowflake could be different, especially considering how many there are. That's just more evidence of God's hand in all things, don't you think?
