New Foods

I have this crazy habit of trying a new recipe for the first time whenever we have guests. Last night we had some friends coming over and of course I thought it would be a perfect time to try out this new recipe.
It's a no-cook pasta sauce made of just a few simple ingredients -- tomatoes, fresh basil, thyme, garlic and olive oil. It worked out great since we had some nice tomatoes from our neighbor's garden, it's something that is prepared way ahead of time, and requires hardly any dishes. It was really tasty, although I should have tossed it with the pasta while the pasta was still really hot (I had a little delay between draining the pasta and serving). We had some nice crusty bread along with it. I thought it was very flavorful and smelled good too.

I found the recipe on Kalyn's Kitchen, a blog I like to check for food ideas. Click here for the link to the recipe and a great photo.

Thanks for mentioning the recipe and providing a link to it on my blog. If you want to use my photo, you need to make it clear that it's a photo from my site, otherwise you are violating my copyright notice, which clearly indicates that photos are copyrighted. Maybe you could just add a sentence under the photo saying something like "Photo of no-cook pasta sauce from Kalyn's Kitchen."

Thanks,
Kalyn

You're brave to try new dishes when having guests over, but this is coming from me and I'm a total cooking wuss. I usually go for something I know I won't mess up if we're having guests, but then again, we never have guests over dinner so what am I talking about?
