Jump Start on School Clothes Shopping

What? It's barely even June! Jordan's not even out of school yet and I've already got most of his school clothes for next year ordered. It's not as exciting as it may sound.

Soon the days of mismatched basketball shorts and t-shirts will be a thing of the past. Next school year he'll be at the junior high where there's a very strict dress code. It's almost like having uniforms, only different.

The deadline for school registration is this Friday and along with all the registration papers came an order form for uniform shirts, which at first confused me. I see kids from the junior high all the time and they never seem to be dressed very uniformly. Turns out they're only allowed to wear certain solid colors and nothing with a design or logo bigger than a dime! It could be tricky shopping, so I'm taking advantage of the option to pre-order some plain t-shirts in the approved colors. Easy!

It sounds like a very interesting dress code for the junior high. I've never heard of one like that.

What was he doing in this picture? It looks like he's using the remote to pretend to put on deodorant, ha.

I think one great thing about a dress code like your son's school has is that it takes the pressure off the teachers in determining if a t-shirt is appropriate for school or not.

Oh how I love dress codes! It's such a great thing- for parents and the kids, in my opinion. In Australia, all the schools, even public, have uniforms and it's fabulous. You don't even have to think about what they're wearing and the kids aren't automatically segregated the first day based on their wardrobe. I hope that it turns out to be a good thing for you. His school's code sounds a little tricky.
