I was actually thinking that having Daylight Savings Time in March made it a little easier to ease into than when it was in April. Everyone in our household was aware of the change, except Jemma, and strangely enough she's been the one most affected by it!
Sunday morning she was, of course, very tired waking up earlier than usual. Church always seems to wear her out too, and she wouldn't have anything to do with a nap Sunday afternoon. So Sunday night, at least it was dark by 7:30, I started getting her ready for bed early, read books etc. and she was in bed ready for sleep at 9 pm. Usually she'll just roll over and go right to sleep. Instead, she stared at the ceiling and said, "I'm not tired." For the next hour she was up and down, back and forth, the whole time claming that it couldn't be bedtime yet. Grrr...
After all that I figured she was just going to sleep at her usual (body clock) time Sunday night, but that meant she got up an hour earlier than normal Monday morning. She was pretty much unphased by this, but Monday night, the same thing happened. Only this time it was at 10 pm. "I'm not tired. I'm just not tired." It was around 11 when she finally went to sleep. It was a difficult morning getting her up and ready today. On the way to school I said, "Wow, we're even a little bit early." Her response: "You mean I could have had more sleep?" What logic.
Are you suffering because of DST too?

For some reason it wasn't hard for me this year:) I was feeling great sunday morning and even better on Mon... Go figure? Poor Jemma... I could tell my kids at school on monday were a little groggy to:) I don't think she was alone.
So, i haven't been blogging for a while, i can see i've missed a lot. I hate when i get behind, but there is no time to really catch up with everyone! So, listen to this, I was looking on sugardoodle for an idea for my cute activity day girls and saw Gratitude Jars...oh my word, they were YOURS! I LOVED the idea. We are going to do something similar i think:) Thanks for sucha great idea. I love your creativity
We made it to church an hour and a half late!! I had no idea it was dst, until we got to church and John told me, I wondered why I struggled so much, I just thought it was because Brig was up a lot that night.
I have no idea why my comment says anonymous, this is leanne and that was leanne.:)
This year DST was hard on us too. It's now Wednesday, and we're still feeling the effects of it.
My kids have DST syndrome every other weekend because of visitation. Their schedules change from 9 pm bedtime to 11 pm bedtime and 6:45 am wakings to 10 am wakings. They hate life for like 3 days when they come home. I kind of hate it too actually.
we don't have DST but I grew up having it and it sure messed me up for the 1st couple of days. Cute post!!
I think it's cruel to stary daylight saving time this early in the spring. It should be in April some time when Spring is officially here and school is nearing its end. It's too early and it's really messing me up more than it has my kids.
I loathe DST. Bleh.
wow, you're a little behind Laurie, you better step it up.:)
