SPT - Pick Me Up or Defying Gravity

The creative and lovely Lelly's question of the week: what do you turn to when you need a quick "pick me up?"

Elphaba's, aka Wicked Witch of the West, song Defying Gravity. I don't know how to link to it directly, but you can find it here.

I love it. It's like an instant escape. It can defy mental gravity in an instant. It works best when played loud through earbuds.

I haven't seen very many musicals, but I enjoy them when seeing them in person. I went to New York with a friend last December (well, not last, it was 2006) and she really wanted to see Wicked, and had already seen it in Chicago. I hadn't heard all the hype about it at that time. I could not think of why she would want to see it again. So we went, and then I knew why. I would definitely see it again!

YES!! I love Wicked! My sis and I saw it last year in Houston and now I'm praying they come back to Texas soon so I can go again!!

Oh that song! The whole soundtrack really. What I wouldn't give to have a voice like Idina Menzel! You know, if it's loud enough in my car, I can belt it out just like her!

That was a great link. I am goign to NY in August with my dh. He wants to go to a Yankees game in Yankee Stadium before they close it, and I want to see Wicked.
Music is a terrific pink me up.

It was a few months ago in Sacrament Meeting (of all places) that I first heard of the musical Wicked, and now I hear about it all the time. Interesting...

I saw Wicked in Ohio with my 12 year old daughter. I even shelled out $40 for her Wicked t-shirt! Great songs!

I am attached to several musical soundtracks (Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof, The Sound of Music, Grease) but haven't really experienced this one yet. I know everyone loves it though.
