A Very Special Day

A hospital room on Christmas Eve in the 1940's. It's quiet. A nurse has taken off her shoes to rest her feet and is sitting in a chair knitting. Close by is a mother of 3 children, soon to have another. Silent Night is playing on the radio. They suddenly realize it's time and the nurse drops her knitting and runs down the hall in her stocking feet to find the doctor. Just before midnight a baby girl is born. My mom.

She is a beautiful person, truly inside and out. She is strong, in every way. She is efficient, insightful, patient, such a good mother, an exemplary wife, spiritual, sensitive, organized, a friend to everyone, a great cook, fun, young at heart (not that she's old!)....and Mom, I love you and I wish you a very happy birthday!

what a nice tribute to your mother. You really do have an awesome mom, and you are just like her!!! Hey, I have always wanted the perfect fudge, I have tried tonz of different recipes, I happened to click on your link to Crystal's recipes, and I found it!! The best every. I used a symphony choc bar, and half a bag of semi sweet ghiradelli. I don't know her, but I love her blog, tell her thanks for all the recipes, I am going to try her brocoli soup today!!!!

That is so so so true!!! Your mom is the best listening ear and the best advice giver! She probably doesn't remember that, but I do.
