Holiday Weekend Recap

It's always good to have these times where our regular lives and routines take a back seat to something different.

We kicked off our holiday by going to see Bee Movie on Wednesday night. It was fun -- better than I expected!

Lucky came to town for the holiday.

My mom hosted a beautiful and scrumptious Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. We were only missing Brian and his family because their boys were sick. I'm always impressed with my mom and her timing when it comes to these kinds of occasions. She's so organized and prepared. I wish I had inherited her skills in this way, but maybe they just have to be acquired through practice and experience.

The kids had their own table with decorations and costumes hand-made by Hayley and Alyssa. (Difficult to get a good photo though.) There were fun activities for them, including a BINGO game with prizes for the winners!

Maya all dressed up, enjoying some ice cream

Most of Chris' family was in town for the weekend, except for Laur and her family. We missed them, but it was fun to see everyone else and the cousins had such a great time together.

Heidi (cousin) and Brigham (Leanne's baby) at Barrett & Jeanine's wedding on Saturday

Jemma loves playing with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's birds!

There are no photos of Jordan! He was here and there and everywhere. Apparently never in the same place as the camera.

(I think I need some lessons in html)

I liked that movie too and love going to movies around holidays, it feels more festive.

I'm glad your Thanksgiving was so nice. I think timing any meal is tricky, but Thanksgiving is such a huge ordeal that it's no small feat to have it all ready at once.

how fun...I still have to go and see that movie...we were debating between enchanted and this one, but my friend had already seen it...so we opted to see it later...so maybe next weekend. It is great to have something to bargain with your kids...if you are good, we will see this movie....etc., that picture of the two little cousins is just soooo cute.
