Jemma's been wanting a pet, as usual. She and Jordan are always campaigning for something. She got this goldfish for her birthday. I'm hoping this satisfies their need for some living thing to take care of. It's name is Goldie.

Jordan has taken up the clarinet. He didn't really choose it, the band teacher suggested it and he was happy to take on the assignment. We have some history with clarinetists in the family. My grandma played in her school's marching band, Chris has an uncle who's excellent on the clarinet, and I played in 7th grade band, although that's almost not worth mentioning. Jordan's doing really well with it and I don't mind his practicing at all!

I think it's very worth mentioning that you played in 7th grade--I sure remember it. Of course, if I was, what, four years old, it felt like a long time that you played the clarinet--just because when you're four everything seems like a long time and for no other reason (because to be honest, I don't remember much of you actually playing it as much as being really fascinated by it and wanting to play it myself). Anyway, best of luck with the music and the pet...
That's a great picture of goldie, a clean bowl is so pleasing. I hope he has a long life.
How nice that you don't mind Jordan's clarinet practicing. Whenever I think of my kids playing an instrument I have fear for the practicing. Whitney has a little recorder she walks around tooting sometimes and it drives me crazy.
